History:

Poodle is derived from the German word "pudelin", which refers to the breed's love of water.

It was bred in Germany as a water retrieval and duck-hunting dog.

Poodles became popular in Europe due to their friendly temperaments and lovable looks.

The standard poodle eventually evolved into miniature and toy poodles. The poodle is the only breed with three sizes.

They were bred for practical reasons but were quickly recognized for their beauty and elegance. Even royalty and celebrities are fond of standard poodles due to their luxury and sophistication.

Personality:

In spite of the absurd hair cuts of the show dogs, the Standard Poodle is a clever, quick-witted, athletic dog. Their fun-loving personalities make them great watchdogs and they will love taking part in any activity their owners choose!

Their knowledge and learning ability likewise saw them co-picked into European circus groups where they flourished - and it was in this limit that the two more modest sizes of Poodles were created.

Their colorful hairstyles were initially pragmatic fully intent on cutting off all undesirable coats that would get waterlogged, yet keeping hair where expected to safeguard joints and keep inner organs warm.
